Inclement Weather Information

With the arrival of winter weather conditions, we wish to share the following reminders and information.

Bus Cancellation Procedure and Communication: On days when weather is deemed to present a significant risk to the safe operation of school bus transportation for our students, the Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Service (STWDSTS) cancels school buses in the morning and posts the information on their website https://stwdsts.ca/and Twitter account @STWDSTS by 6:30 a.m. When anticipating winter weather conditions, please continue to monitor the Student Transportation Services website for updates on bus cancellations.

When school buses are canceled, schools remain open unless otherwise communicated.  Parents should check local conditions to determine if they are able to safely drop their children off at school and pick them up at the end of the school day.

School Closures due to Inclement Weather or Other Emergency: The closure of schools due significant inclement weather events or other emergencies are a rare occurrence.  Every effort is made to notify parents as soon as possible in these circumstances. Notification of school closures due to a significant inclement weather event or other emergency are posted on school and board websites, through Twitter, local radio media, and parents will receive e-mail notification.

In the event of a school closure, information concerning accessing learning materials for the day will be included in communications provided and classrooms educators will post updates and materials to their class D2L sites by 10:30 a.m.
